Betty Lau, Margaret Pihl, and Cathleen O’Callaghan

Betty Lau, co-founder of Transit Equity for All (TEA), is a longtime Chinatown community advocate, growing up in the 2nd and 3rd Chinatowns. With community partners, she was instrumental in getting the Chinatown International District onto the state and nation’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places lists.  Margaret Pihl is a community historian and President at Friends of the Market. She staffed the Ballard Avenue Landmark District Board and Pike Place Market Historical Commission 2003-2019.  Cathleen O’Callaghan is a community historian in Ballard. She served on the Ballard Avenue Landmark District Board 2015-2022 and has been an active member of the Ballard Historical Society board since 2004.
