Six minutes in I got a robocall from Donald Trump. Soon a text from my son who suggested someone had a shock collar on Trump. So the surreal evening began.
Mostly I watched their faces. If Trump ever cracked a real smile I missed it. Biden seemed like a real human, smiling in disbelief, appropriately; shaking his head at Trump’s many lies.
Winner: Biden who nailed the last question about inaugural speech with a message of president of all America. Trump? I can’t even remember. More narcissistic BS.
Another winner: Moderator, Kristen Welker. She was professional, in command, not cowed by Trump’s efforts to trash her.
This will not change the trajectory of the race.
